There is something extra special about a photoshoot that includes a little bit of country charm and a whole lot of fluffy cows. These cow mini sessions with Moose and Maverick were easily some of the most fun sessions I’ve photographed recently. Moose and Maverick are Highpark cows, which are a cross of Highland cattle known for their fluffy coats, gentle personalities, and unique look. They bring such a calm and curious presence to the session, which makes the entire experience feel relaxed and fun for families.

These cow mini sessions with Moose & Maverick took place in Greencastle, Indiana and are a part of the unique family experiences I offer through Em Captures Moments, a lifestyle photography business serving Greencastle, Plainfield, and surrounding Indiana communities.
THE EXPERIENCE
One of my favorite moments during these minis is always the first few minutes when families walk up and meet the cows. There’s always a little excitement, a little curiosity, and then suddenly everyone is smiling and laughing as Moose and Maverick wander over to say hello.
Kids especially love these sessions because it feels less like a photoshoot and more like an adventure. Whether they are reaching out to pet the cows, giggling when Moose gives a curious sniff, or simply standing in awe of these big fluffy friends, the reactions are always genuine and so sweet to capture.
